The Lichtenberg process

A friend introduced me to this process – and as soon as I had seen the results I knew I had to make my own Lichtenberg machine. This is relatively easy for anyone with the practical electrical knowledge required – at it’s most basic the machine is just a transformer (usually from a microwave) plugged into the mains! As I intended to use mine on a regular basis I thought I would include some safety features – so I have a main power switch, which arms it and lights the warning light. Then there’s a ‘push-to-make’ foot-switch to actually power the probes – this works as a ‘dead man’s switch’ safety device – my foot has to be actively pushing the button down for the power to be on, otherwise it cuts out.
